A teenage girl who vanished on a desert island five years ago has been found alive.

“We were able to locate and confirm the identity of the teen that disappeared on the Island of Tahiti last fall,” Tahiti Police Chief Steve D’Angelo said on Friday afternoon.
“Her remains were found yesterday by the search parties, including her family members and some of her classmates and friends.”
She was also located by a group of searchers from the Hawaii Department of Health and the search teams from Tahiti, Samoa and New Zealand.
“Police said they were confident they had located Lauren Zieinski and were preparing for the search to continue.”
I have been told by authorities that she was located by search teams and was alive,” Chief D’angelo said.”
The search is continuing and we expect to find her soon.
“Police searched for the teenager for more than three weeks before discovering she had been missing for more then a week, leaving behind a trail of clues.
The search team is still looking for another teenage girl missing from the same island and have been working with the island’s chief medical officer, Dr Scott Brown, to assist in the search.
Tahiti is a popular destination for young people looking for a break from school and to escape the heat and boredom of the islands tropical climate.”
There is a lot of people who are looking for this young girl who disappeared on Tahiti and we want to help them find her,” Chief Brown said.
The girl was last seen on the Tahiti island of Tahitians Island in March, when she disappeared from the beach.
She was reported missing by her cousin who went to the beach to take a picture of her.
The police chief said the search for the girl is continuing, with search teams focusing on the Pacific island’s southern and eastern coasts.”
As we continue to search for her, we will continue to look for other girls,” he said.
